First of all some really exciting news! ‘Thank you
for my dinner, may I get down please?’ is soon to be featured within the
‘Select Listing’ section of Publishers Weekly and in the homepages of both
PublishersWeekly.com and BookLife.com, and a friend informed me that apparently
it was mentioned briefly in an article about life in the 1950’s and 60’s in The
Times newspaper a month or so ago. Any further information on that appearance
would be welcome!
And now to picnics and Easter days out…….We joined
up with our second daughter, Isobel, her husband and 2 little girls for a
picnic and play at Chatsworth this week. We all came prepared for a real April
forecast but as it turned out, no need for brollies or waterproofs – the day
was calm and the sun shone. The setting of the park and grounds of Chatsworth
is an ideal backing for a book photo – and a tent makes for an expecially cosy
read. A picnic by the river, a bottle of Prosecco, cherry cakes and coffee to
follow, plus of course, something for the ducks – and no-one fell in the water!
In a future blog I will endeavour to take a trip around the farm which was
a great success with both grandchildren and of course the sandpit
play area with it’s Archimedes’ hydrodynamic screw – which also fascinated the
grown-ups!
So, attached are a couple of photos to remind us of
the day –
Storytime at Chatsworth, and
Two and a book in a tent.
