‘THANK YOU FOR MY DINNER’ IS NOW SERVED AND READY TO GO

My first book was published on March 31st, and I was thrilled to receive my first batch through the post, plus flyers, postcards, posters and bookmarks yesterday. It was like Christmas Day unpacking the box and seeing all the glossy new covers, picking them up and realizing that my manuscript had magically turned into a rather smart book! The last 24 hours have been very busy in contacting all my friends and sending out emails in different directions. I am attaching a photo of the happy author sitting in front of her very best friend – a Yamaha U3 which has been with her for nearly 25 years, and used by her for teaching and pleasure and invaluable in helping her 3 daughters to achieve great things. It’s never too late to learn to play the piano you know!

This morning I found an H.E.Bates book in our local charity shop which I hadn’t read before….it’s called ‘Seven by Five’ and is a collection of short stories. I like a good short story as each one sums up a place or situation so cleverly and succinctly without unnecessary padding. Bates, Hardy, Somerset Maugham and Frederick Forsyth are among my favourites. Maybe one day I will gather some of my attempts together and have them published after my ‘dinner’ has gone down OK!
